AJIBOLA PROGRESSIVE FOUNDATION FOOTBALL COMPETITION

I was overwhelmed yesterday at the SODUBI HARMATTAN FOOTBALL COMPETITION put together by my Foundation AJIBOLA PROGRESSIVE FOUNDATION.

My Excitement wasn't just because I am lover of youth and Sport but seeing young minds coming together in one accord and drumming support for Each other got me Emotional.

The Competition lasted for Three weeks in which 16 Teams participated, in which 8 Teams made it to the Quarter final and two headed to the Finals.

My Foundation pledges future support to the organizers, and we gave out cash prize to the First and second position Respectively.

As a lover of sport, I see this as an Avenue to bring out potential of our teeming youths ,and also a platform to have a conversation with them on how their involvement in Politics will spur and move the state and country to the highest level.

Special Thank you the organizers, Players and thousands of Youths who took their time out to enjoy the competition with us.

I urge us all to keep up with the good behavior and be of good impact to the society as Always.

Lastly, as we prepare to Celebrate Christmas and New year, I admonish us to follow the Covid-19 guildline and Enjoy this special Christmas with our Family and close friends.

CUSTOMS KILLING: OGUN STATE GOVERNMENT FOOTS MEDICAL BILLS OF INJURED YOUTHS

In line with the agenda of Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, in ensuring peaceful conduct of youths in the state, even when provoked, the Special Assistant to the governor on Youth and Sports, Comrade Olamide Lawal, yesterday paid a Solidarity visit to the aggrieved youths in Ayetoro, Yewa North local government area of the state.

The youths who made several burn fires on the road, in reaction to the unjustly killing of one of them by officers of the Nigeria Customs Service early this week, were happy to receive the representative of government who pacified them.

According to Lawal, 'We're humans, and every reasonable person should have and display the sense of empathy and sympathy, when innocent lives are taken unjustly."

"Prior to my visit today, I had discussed with the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, AIG Olushola Subair rtd, about this incident and ways of preventing such future occurrences"

The Governor's aide confirmed that the matter was a murder case according to the briefing he got from the Divisional Police Officer of Ayetoro Police Station.

"I have been to the DPO, Mr Jimoh, this morning also, and he took me to the scene of the event and explained clearly everything about the incident".

"The DPO affirmed to me that It was a case of murder, as the young man, who was killed was not a smuggler." Lawal explained

During the visit, the Special Assistant observed that four other people sustained gunshot injuries, while two others were mercilessly beaten within the town, during the unholy attack.

He posited that "All the youths affected, were on their legitimate businesses before the incident occurred."

In a bid to ensure that the injured people get necessary medical attention, the Governor's aide mobilized three of them to general hospital and paid their bills.

A woman who was said to have treated herself had her money refunded by the S.A.

Comrade Lawal later paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased, and empathized with them.

"In fact, seeing the pregnant wife of the deceased, brought tears to the eyes"

"I therefore implore the youth to desist from any form of destruction, no matter what, because the government properties belong to the people." Lawal advised.

HONOURABLE SULIAMON AJIBOLA WALKING THE TALK , A VISIONARY LEADER

I want to believe, whatever is your age or however successful you are, words of encouragement and appreciation, especially from people who have no vested interest, helps in augmenting the spirit of that person.

Today, amidst all aversion towards politics and politicking, I can with utter confidence admire a true leader and philanthropist in the person of Hon. Sulaimon M. Ajibola.

Having subtly emerged as a visionary with a mission to turn around the welfare of Ogun state and its indigents. Assessing him by the testimonies of his immediate followers and the many who have come in contact with him, he has proven to be a leader who has his ears to the ground.

When it comes down to walking the talk, over the years we have heard so many political speeches centering towards 'poverty', especially during Independence Day speeches and on campaign podiums, the cliché word used by politicians. Whereas, here is someone who knows how to act and mobilize not only resources but the mindset of the people too. With the country being pegged fastest growing economy in Africa almost every year and also nicknamed “Giants of Africa”, the mindset of majority of its citizenry stands below par hence, the need to also work on the mindset of its people a sure way to build self esteem.

And Hon. Sulaimon M. Ajibola has been and is still doing this. He is *Walking the talk*.

Whatever his long term objective and his plan is, he is worth the time, effort and might I dare add trust too.

A young mind that would bridge the gap across generations is very much active and virile in Hon. Ajibola. Who else can listen, understand and satisfy the thriving youth force other than a man who has seen it all in terms of youthful exuberance now matured having grown from its bruises but also a man who is close to the older generation constantly and respectfully learning the ropes of leadership as it ought to be.

As stated earlier, this isn’t with hopes of any vested interest only words of encouragement with hopes to provide a pat on the back of this world emerging leader to urge him on and also bring to his notice that his works have been noticed and is greatly admired.

O ṣe daradara, ati pe orisun ọgbọn rẹ ati suru rẹ ko ni tan.
